The story
The physical trophy Product Hunt sent winners of its yearly Golden Kitty Awards. Recent editions are a frosted acrylic block with two cat-ear notches cut into the top and a gold mirrored insert, so it reads as a cat from the front. Earlier winners (around 2021–22) got a gold cat figurine instead. Startups posted unboxings on launch days for years. Product Hunt has since retired the Golden Kitties in favour of quarterly Orbit Awards, which makes the trophy a piece of startup history.
